Renewable Energy : The Future of Saudi Arabia

Despite being the world’s largest oil producer, renewable energy is the best and most promising alternative to the oil industry. In ten years, the domestic energy demand of Saudi Arabia will be about 8.3 million barrels each year and that will eat up most of Saudi Arabia’s oil reserves. Thus, if the country can power its own domestic energy needs through renewable energy sources that leaves the oil for export which at the end is better for the Saudi economy and more importantly, renewable energy like solar and wind is cheaper. Consequently, if the country successfully builds the world largest solar project of 200 GW worth $200 Billion by 2030, they will be producing more power than they need so they will be able to export power to other countries in the region.
